Pandit D. K. Parsai belongs to a family widely known for several centuries as astrologers to the Indian Royalties like Rajas, Maharajas, Nawabs, and Chieftains. The family of Parsais has been, at different times State Astrologers to former Maharaja of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur (Mewar), Ratlam and Sitamau (now in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh respectively, in India). Pandit Parsai's late great grandfather, Ramnarayaniji Parsai was a very widely known and respected astrologer of his times, while his grand father, Pandit Bhawanishankar Parsai, had no equal all over Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in his knowledge and practice of "Ramal-Sastra", a branch of Predictive Science and was widely recognized and respected for remarkable accuracy of his predictions. Pandit D K Parsai is further blessed since his maternal grand father, Astrologer Pandit Natulalji Dwivedi and his ancestors too were State Astrologers, so he inherits astrology from both branches of his ancestry, father's side and mother's side.

His father Pandit K. B. Parsai, gained very wide reputation all over India and overseas for his accurate calculation and unmatched accuracy in predictions. He wrote the Weekly Forecast Column for a large English Daily Newspaper in New Delhi from 1978 to 1980. For two decades he authored 'THE COMING WEEK', the Weekly Astrological Predictions Column for the premier English Language Daily News Paper, The Hindustan Times, published from New Delhi.

Pandit D. K. Parsai trained with his father Pandit K. B. Parsai from a tender age of 14 years. In the family tradition, he too started learning and practising the science of Astrology and the art of predictions along side with his school and college education.
